Athif Mohamed (Han Lab) graduated from University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka with a BSc. in Biomedical Engineering. During his undergraduate studies he worked on several computational projects related to biosignal processing, analysis and machine learning, first with ECG and then with EEG. He became interested in neurophotonics after joining Boston University during lab rotations at Boas and Han labs. For his doctoral research he works on computational analysis of imaging data in Professor Xue Han’s Lab. He is particularly interested in how the brain ‘learns’ at the network level and expects to use neurophotonics tools to investigate this. He is also interested in exploring learning paradigms in artificial systems in relation to biological learning. He expects to graduate in 2024.
