Cormac Kelly (Lewis Lab) is a rising 2nd year PhD student in the Biomedical Engineering department. He became involved in the study of the brain while working with actuated prosthetics during his Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering at Clemson University. Now he is working on methods for measuring and quantifying CSF flow in the brain using fMRI and fNIRS imaging techniques. He hopes to be able to apply these technologies as diagnostic methods for various neurodegenerative disorders, such as Alzheimer’s Disease. He expects to graduate in 2024.
