Kaitlyn Dorst (Ramirez lab) became aware of BU Neurophotonics through the Society for Neuroscience Conference in 2016. At the time, she was involved in research using optogenetic techniques to study the neural underpinnings of breathing behavior. She received a B.S. in Biology from the College of William & Mary. She does not have a solid dissertation title yet, but it will involve optogenetic manipulation of memory. Her expected graduation date is roughly May 2023.
