Lucius Wilmerding (Hasselmo Lab) received his B.A. in Neuroscience Studies from Macalester College in 2013. His interest in neurophotonics was piqued during lab rotations with the Ramirez and Davison laboratories in his first year in the Graduate Program for Neuroscience. Lucius’ research interests focus on exploring learning and memory circuits using optogenetics and imaging techniques coupled with traditional electrophysiology. He hopes this research will one day help combat memory decline and cognitive impairment. His expected graduation date is 2022. Lucius works under Michael Hasselmo in the Psychology and Brain Sciences department.
