Pierre Fabris (Han Lab) graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in 2019 with a degree in Biomedical Engineering and Computer Science. He became interested in the brain after attending a seminar presentation on neural regeneration in the stroke brain. Upon arriving at BU, he took neuroengineering classes and became fascinated in how genetically encoded voltage sensors can indicate a neuron’s electrophysiology. He joined Professor Xue Han’s lab in the Biomedical Engineering Department, and is interested in improving and applying voltage indicators to better understand brain diseases such as Parkinson’s. He is hoping to graduate in 2024.
