Rini Kaplan (Vision & Cognition Lab) is a doctoral student in the Clinical Psychology program, specializing in neuropsychology, in the Department of Psychological & Brain Sciences where she is part of the Vision & Cognition Lab under the mentorship of Dr. Alice Cronin-Golomb. She first became involved with neurophotonics after coming to BU and is currently using functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) to study the motor and non-motor symptoms of Parkinson’s disease (PD). For her dissertation, she is interested in using fNIRS to study the non-motor symptoms of cognition, positive affect, and humor in PD. She received her BA in Psychology and Integrative Physiology with a certificate in Neuroscience from the University of Colorado-Boulder, and her MSc in Human Cognitive Neuropsychology from the University of Edinburgh. She expects to graduate in 2025.
