Sanaya Shroff (Han lab) graduated with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering and a minor in Biomedical Engineering from Cornell University in 2016. After attending an invited talk about chronic traumatic encephalopathy, she became interested in using engineering principles to solve the problems of brain disease, particularly cancers like glioblastoma. At Boston University, Sanaya is completing her Ph.D. dissertation with Prof. Xue Han and is focusing on developing genetically-encoded sensor technologies and light-controllable systems to probe the mechanisms of brain disease. She expects to graduate in 2021.
