Munib Hasnain (Economo Lab) graduated from the University of Houston in 2017 with a B.S in Mechanical Engineering. He became casually interested in neuroscience after graduation and then became involved in neurophotonics at Boston University while rotating in various labs where he used various computational techniques to analyze calcium imaging data, among other projects. He has not yet defined a dissertation topic, but it will involve understanding the dynamics of neural populations involved in motor control through modeling regions of the brain involved in specific motor command pathways and the analysis of behavioral data. He expects to graduate with a PhD in Biomedical Engineering in 2024.
