Soyoung Lee (Kumar Lab) graduated from Yonsei University in Seoul, where she earned her B.S and M.S in physical education & sports rehabilitation. Her background in Kinesiology led her to explore joint and gait biomechanics in people with knee osteoarthritis in BU, working under the mentorship of Dr. Deepak Kumar in the Movement Applied Imaging Laboratory. Her current research interest is to explore the analgesic effect of exercise on modulating chronic knee pain applying brain imaging technique under co-mentoring from Dr. Boas and Dr. Yücel. The goal is to understand the central and peripheral mechanism of pain modulation by exercise therapy and its relation to motor control. She expects to graduate in 2024.
