For Patients
We offer both one-time physical therapy consultations and on-going physical therapy treatment with our physical therapists who have expertise in treating Parkinson Disease. We use contemporary, evidence-based treatment approaches to ensure that we are providing the best care possible.
Like the dentist or your neurologist, regular visits to your physical therapist will optimize your care and improve long term outcomes. We recommend starting physical therapy shortly after the diagnosis of PD with regular follow-up visits, approximately every 6 months. This model emphasizes early detection of changes and facilitates a prevention approach. Making ongoing changes to your exercise program is essential to optimizing your outcomes and quality of life. The figures below give an example of the traditional model and the revised model that we use.
