Courtney Pina Miller
Lecturer
As a first-gen student who has navigated several universities, I understand the complex obstacles first-gen students face (as well as the many strengths we have!). I am eager to mentor undergraduate and graduate students about topics like imposter syndrome, finding a sense of belonging on campus, and managing the socio-cultural experiences of class and educational mobility. I’m especially interested in supporting low-income students, students of color, and any one else whose various identities intersect with and/or complicate their experiences as first-gen. Above all, I’m here to uplift first-gen students and remind you that you belong and deserve to be here!
