When I was working on my undergraduate degree, the concept of a first gen student did not exist. When I look back at my initial years in college, I definitely felt like a “fish out of water” and I could have used more support. I wanted to become a F1RSTS advocate so I can help provide the type of support that I wish I had received myself.
