Paul Shafer
Assistant Professor
As a first-gen undergraduate and graduate student, I feel like there was so much that I didn’t know. I just had to stumble along and figure things out on my own, not knowing how things worked. And especially in graduate school, the so-called ‘hidden curriculum’ of things that can make or break your experience is so powerful. Seeing friends in my PhD program have a negative experience while I flourished just showed me how much having the right support and mentorship matter. I want to help give that to you so you can achieve everything that you hoped for when you decided to come to BU!
