Sarah Thomson

Senior Assistant Director for Multicultural Recruitment

In my role with Admissions I work with current and prospective students every day and it’s so important to me that I am able to support students in every way I can. I was a first-generation student myself but didn’t know what that meant or that it applied to me during my undergraduate experience! I absolutely would have benefitted from having a resource like the Newbury Center at my disposal and professionals around me who understood what my needs were even if I didn’t. I want any member of the BU community to feel comfortable coming to me and using me as a resource, mentor, or just someone who can relate in some way to the challenges and triumphs that come with the first-generation experience!
