As a Boston University student taking courses online with the Office of Distance Education, it is important that your setup meets the necessary technical requirements to complete your coursework. You need to have access to these technologies for the duration of your course. Any additional information on technical requirements will be found in your course syllabus.

Recommended Hardware
- Desktop or laptop computer recommended for best experience, some functionality including proctored exams are not compatible with phones or tablets
- Headset with built-in microphone for high quality audio during live classroom sessions
- Webcam (required for proctored exams)
- Working computer speakers (required for proctored exams)
