Anthony Janetos Gives Lecture at Colorado State University

Anthony Janetos, Director of the Frederick S. Pardee Center for the Study of the Longer-Range Future, recently gave a lecture at Colorado State University’s School of Global Environmental Sustainability titled “Preparing for the Long Range Future: Observations from the Interface of Environmental Science and Policy.”

Prof. Janetos spoke about the growing desire within the environmental sciences to focus more on developing solutions to issues, rather than just diagnosing issues. In particular, he spoke about the relatively new boundary institutions that form part of the process of communicating the scientific understanding of environmental issues to policy audiences, and the growing use of scientific assessments as communication mechanisms.
