The Climate Action Plan Task Force, which is chaired by Anthony Janetos, Director of the Frederick S. Pardee Center for the Study of the Longer-Range Future, is excited to announce the launch of its website. The website is intended to help Boston University students, faculty, and staff stay abreast of the process, get involved in developing a plan for the University to reduce its impacts on climate change, and prepare the campuses for what a changing climate will bring.

The Task Force met for the first time on November 18th. In President Brown’s charge to the Task Force, he noted the plan should consider how to engage a broader community in this discussion. He also asked the Task Force to consider this as an opportunity to elevate the University’s position as a leader in addressing the challenges of climate change in its educational programs, research, operations, finance, and community engagement.

The Task Force is currently developing forums and other opportunities for the BU community to convene and weigh in with thoughts and ideas. The discussion will continue on the website, Facebook, and Twitter, so stay tuned for upcoming events by following #BUClimateAction.
