Graduate Summer Fellows Meet with Center Director Anthony Janetos

On June 6, the Graduate Summer Fellows had their first faculty lunch discussion of the program, meeting with Pardee Center Director Anthony Janetos, a Professor in the Department of Earth & Environment.

Prof. Janetos explained some of his recent work on the scientific assessment process, food security, and the BU Climate Action Plan. He also gave an overview of his career path — which has included wide-ranging leadership roles at the Environmental Protection Agency, NASA, non-governmental organizations, and academia — and stressed the value of interdisciplinary research and scholarship for addressing the most pressing problems facing the world today. 

The discussion was the first of a weekly series of faculty meetings with the Graduate Summer Fellows.
