Pardee Center Welcomes Spanish Delegation for Discussion on U.S. Indo-Pacific Strategy & China Policy

On July 1, 2024, the Frederick S. Pardee Center for the Study of the Longer-Range Future welcomed a delegation of academics, researchers, and policymakers from Spain for a conversation about China and its activities in the Indo-Pacific with Amb. Jorge Heine, Pardee Center Interim Director.

The delegation was invited to the United States under the auspices of the U.S. Department of State’s International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) and the meeting was organized in partnership with WorldBoston.

The discussion, led by Amb. Heine, examined the U.S. perspective of China’s interests, strategies, and motivations in the Indo-Pacific. They also explored possibilities for new partnerships and academic cooperation among regional experts from the United States and Spain.

The meeting followed a conversation led by Amb. Heine with an IVLP delegation from Mozambique in April, also arranged in partnership with WorldBoston.
