Todela, Neher Earn Scholarships

PROVAWARDAdrienne Todela and Susanne Neher, both undergraduates at the Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston University, have been recognized by the Boston University Office of the Provost for outstanding contributions to scholarship.

Todela, a junior, is a double major in International Relations and Communications. Todela is a recipient of a Harold C. Case Scholarship, offered to outstanding Boston University juniors for their senior year. Case Scholarships recognize scholarly accomplishment and potential as well as extra curricular activities which contribute to the University.

Todela studied abroad last semester in London, where she interned with the African Foundation for Development. She also interned with the National Immigrant Women’s Advocacy Project and Lost Origin Productions in Washington, DC, and has been involved with multiple Model UN Conferences over the past few years.

Neher, a rising junior, is a Kilachand Honors College student majoring in international relations and minoring in African studies. Neher does research on public health interventions in Kimana, Kenya. She works under the direction of Timothy Longman, associate professor and director of the African Studies Center.

Neher was the recipient of a Provost Scholars Award.  This award celebrates rising juniors who have demonstrated their willingness in their first two years of college to stretch themselves intellectually, to push beyond what they already know they can do, to take significant risk by pursuing the unknown and unpredictable, demonstrating the true spirit of a research university.

“It is among our great privileges as educators to recognize the outstanding work our students are performing both in their classrooms and communities,” said University Provost Jean Morrison at the honor ceremony, held in the BU Castle. “From academic achievement to all-around excellence in coursework and public service, these awards each year highlight the caliber of current and future difference-makers we have at Boston University. These honors are well earned, and we are proud to help support these students’ success.”
