The Pardee Graduate Council (PGC), the official graduate student organization of  the Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies, participated in a video conference with the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO) on April 11, 2016.

The joint video conference was held at the Questrom School of Business and focused on the topics of Iran after sanctions and how the United States is portrayed in Russia’s media.

The conference included several speakers and a moderator from both the Pardee School and MGIMO. Igor Lukes, Professor of International Relations and History, served as moderator for the Pardee School.

Jack Davidson, President of the PGC, said the chance to hold a discussion with fellow International Relations students from across the globe was a unique and important experience.

“The Pardee Community had the opportunity to discuss pressing current events with fellow students from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations, affording them them the chance to exchange ideas and opinions across cultural and political boundaries,” Davidson said. “While we did not agree on everything, the fact that we were able to have such a forum was an incredibly important experience for students hoping to shortly become practitioners and academics.”

The conference was preceded by a reception held at the Pardee School.
