Longman Speaks at Weber State University on Rwandan Genocide

Timothy Longman, Associate Professor of International Relations and Political Science and Director of the Institute on Culture, Religion and World Affairs at the Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston University, gave three talks at Weber State University in Utah on January 16, 2019.

Longman gave a talk hosted by Weber State University Amnesty International entitled “Engaging in Human Rights Work: Challenges, Barriers and Coping.”

He also spoke as part of the Weber State University Honors Program Food for Thought Speaker Series entitled “Rwanda Genocide: 25 Years Later,” and spoke in a class on “Rwanda: Before and After the Genocide.”

Longman’s current research focuses on state -society relations in Africa, looking particularly at human rights, transitional justice, democratization, civil society, the politics of race and ethnicity, religion and politics, and women and politics.
