Miller Discusses Latest Book with Observer Research Foundation
On October 8, 2020, Manjari Chatterjee Miller, Associate Professor of International Relations at the Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston University, discussed her new book – The Routledge Handbook of China-India Relations – during a webinar for the Observer Research Foundation (ORF), one of the premier think tanks in New Delhi.
Joining Miller on the webinar panel were her co-editors – Kanti Bajpai, Wilmar Professor of Asian Studies at the National University of Singapore’s Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, and Selina Ho – Assistant Professor and Chair of the Master in International Affairs Program at the National University of Singapore’s Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy – as well as three Delhi-based contributors – Jabin T. Jacob, Associate Professor at Shiv Nadar University’s Department of International Relations and Governance Studies, Lydia Powell, Distinguished Fellow & Head of the Centre for Resources Management at ORF, and Constantino Xavier, Foreign Policy and Security Studies Fellow at the Centre for Social and Economic Progress. The panel was moderated by Harsh V. Pant, Director of the Studies and Head of the Strategic Studies Programme at ORF.
The Routledge Handbook of China-India Relations brings together thirty five original essays on relations between the two giants of Asia. The volume is notable for its much wider coverage of China-India relations than standard volumes on the subject and for its interdisciplinarity. It brings together a wide range of authors, drawn from Australia, Brazil, China, Germany, India Japan, the Netherlands, Singapore, Sweden, the UK, and the US, and nearly half of its contributors are female scholars. The essays show that China-India relations are more far-reaching and complex than ever and marked by both conflict and cooperation.
