Lukes Discusses the Prospect of Continued Trump Presidency

Igor Lukes, Professor of International Relations and History at the Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston University, was interviewed for an October 22, 2020, Idnes.cz article on the the Trump presidency and what four more years of his leadership would look like. 

In the article, titled “Trump naplnil přání Kremlu, jeho výhra prohloubí chaos, říká profesor Lukeš” (Trump Has Fulfilled the Kremlin’s Wishes, His Victory Would Deepen Chaos), Lukes discussed what has changed in the United States under President Trump’s leadership, how he has fulfilled the wishes of Kremlin strategists through his confrontational approach to alliance-management, and the attacked he has used against former Vice President Joe Biden.

Another four years of President Donald Trump would lead to more chaos, dangerous unpredictability, and disrespect for international law. Joe Biden would not follow the Russian playbook and would be more sensitive toward Central Europe.
