Najam Discusses Assassination of Mohsen Fakhrizadeh

Adil Najam, Dean of the Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston University, appeared on both Hum News and Dunya News TV to discuss the assassination of Iranian nuclear scientist Mohsen Fakhrizadeh as well as its regional and global implications.

In both his appearances, Najam argued that President Donald Trump’s legacy on international affairs may be far deeper than he or others had expected it to be. Nowhere is this more evident than in the Middle East, especially in Iran. He went on to say that “we should expect the region to remain on a boil, now and into the foreseeable future.”

Regarding Fakhrizadeh’s assassinations, Najam said it has placed incoming President Joe Biden even more in a corner, and no matter what his impulses may be on the future of the Iran nuclear deal, he will find himself increasingly cornered and lacking real options.
