Najam Publishes Op-Ed on “The World After Coronavirus” Series

Adil NajamDean of the Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston University, published an op-ed in The Conversation discussing what he learned as host of  “The World After Coronavirus,” (#WorldAfterCorona), a video interview series presented by the the Frederick S. Pardee Center for the Study of the Longer-Range Future, a Pardee School affiliated center.

In the article, titled “I spoke to 99 big thinkers about what our ‘world after coronavirus’ might look like – this is what I learned,” Najam discussed his experience hosting the interview series, what he learned speaking with global experts throughout the series, and why the post-pandemic world will not return to what it was. Najam remarks that the world prior to the pandemic was anything but normal, and while experts agreed there are certain things that COVID-19 will not change – turbulent politics and geopolitical tensions to name two – the pandemic creates an opportunity for real progress on climate change, healthcare, and digitization.

The full op-ed can be read on The Conversation‘s website. A republished version is also available on Fast Company. Watch the full #WorldAfterCorona series on the Pardee School’s website.
