Heine Publishes Book Chapter on Latin America’s International Relations
Ambassador Jorge Heine, Research Professor at the Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston University, published a chapter in the recently released Panorama Estrategico 2021, a yearly publication of the Spanish Institute of Strategic Studies, a think tank associated with the Spanish Ministry of Defense.
The book provides a survey of world affairs, in which Heine wrote a chapter on Latin America’s international relations in 2020-2021. The chapter, titled “Medio millón de muertos: la mala hora de América Latina” (Half a million dead: Latin America on the Brink), tackles issues such as the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the region, the election of a new president of the Inter-American Development Bank, and the political economy of China-Latin American relations.
Panorama Estrategico can be downloaded for free on the Spanish Institute of Strategic Studies’s website.
