Pardee School Invites Applications for Two Faculty Positions

The Frederick S. Pardee School for Global Studies at Boston University invites applications for two new faculty positions. The Pardee School faculty is dedicated to improving the human condition through rigorous interdisciplinary education, path-breaking research, and innovative initiatives to make a real-world difference in the critical challenges humanity faces.

  1. Assistant Professor, Global Justice (Tenured/Tenure-track): The Pardee School invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Global Justice, beginning July 1, 2022, subject to budget approval. The search is open to scholars of all aspects of Global Justice, including human rights, environmental justice, economic justice, transitional justice, and poverty alleviation. We are particularly interested in scholars whose work addresses justice through the lenses of class, race, ethnicity, gender, and/or colonization. We welcome applications from scholars in any relevant discipline, including law, anthropology, political science, sociology, history, and international relations, and are open to all methodological approaches and regional specializations, as long as the applicant demonstrates a commitment to empirical, policy-relevant research. The Pardee School of Global Studies offers B.A. and M.A. degrees and and is committed to multidisciplinary, policy-relevant research and teaching and to nurturing the next generation of international relations practitioners. Candidates who have demonstrated policy experience are especially encouraged to apply.
  2. Professor of the Practice, Sustainable Development (Non tenure-track): The Pardee School invites applications for appointment as Professor of the Practice of Global Development with a special focus on issues of sustainable development, global environmental challenges, and international development. The successful candidate will be a distinguished practitioner who has worked at high levels in major international organizations, government, and/or non-governmental organizations, demonstrated professional excellence in the field of environment and development, and shares a commitment to the Pardee School’s institutional values regarding diversity, equity, inclusion and social justice.
