Pardee School Hosts Fall 2021 Welcome Back for Students
The Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston University welcomed its undergraduate and graduate students back to campus on September 9, 2021, with an event centered around Pardee community building and student/faculty interaction.
The event provided Pardee School students and faculty with similar academic interests the opportunity to get to know one another in an informal setting. Students also had an opportunity to learn more about the Pardee School school’s affiliated centers and institutes, offerings from Student Affairs and Services, as well as student-led organizations including the Pardee Women’s Group, the Pardee Graduate Council, the Boston University International Affairs Association, The Politica, the Pardee Atlas, and the academic fraternity/sorority Delta Phi Epsilon.
Faculty and student leaders delivered remarks that embraced the full return to campus while encouraging safe collaboration. Dean Adil Najam and Henrik Selin, were excited to see the Pardee School community come together again but stressed the importance of COVID-19 compliance in order to maintain continued on-campus activities and ensure the community’s safety. Dean’s Ambassadors Anica Abaquin (BA IR ’22) and Alhassan Hashad (MAIA ’22, BA IR ’20) offered warm welcomes to their fellow students, encouraged them to engage with all that the School has to offer, and noted the importance of their education in the face of ever more daunting global challenges.
