Yasmin Morais (Pardee BA IR ’19) Listed on BostInno’s Annual “25 Under 25” List

Yasmin Morais (Pardee BA IR ’19) is among three Boston University alumni who have been listed in BostInno’s annual “25 Under 25” list for 2021. Joining Morais on the list are fellow Terriers Hailey Hart-Thompson (CAS’21, COM’21) and Fiona Whittington (COM’19).

In her selection, BostInno notes that Morais “has long dreamed of making a meaningful impact on the world. She’s on her way now.” She is a co-founder, executive director, and fundraising lead for RefEd Initiative, which works with partners to address the educational needs of refugee children through an app that teaches English, Arabic, or math. Originally conceived as a group project in a Pardee School class on Forced Migration and Human Trafficking and supported by Spark – BU’s tech and innovation incubator – RefEd aims to provide access to education to refugees in emergency situations all over the world, until there is education for every child on the move.

Morais ’s also the program manager of the youth empowerment organization Global Changemakers, a group that says it has helped lead nearly 400 youth-led projects in 180 countries, benefiting more than 8 million people.
