Heine Interviewed on Chilean Presidential Runoff Election
Ambassador Jorge Heine, Research Professor at the Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston University, appeared on Buenos Aires, Argentina-based Radio Ciudad’s “Corresponsales en Linea” to discuss Chile’s recent presidential elections and the upcoming runoff election on December 19, 2021.
In the interview, Heine discusses the polarized nature of this election, the runoff candidates – José Antonio Kast on the extreme right and Gabriel Boric on the left – as well as why centrist parties are not playing as big a role in this election.

Ambassador Jorge Heine is a Research Professor at the Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston University. He has served as ambassador of Chile to China (2014-2017), to India (2003-2007), and to South Africa (1994-1999), and as a Cabinet Minister in the Chilean Government.
