Najam Discusses Global Challenges Caused by Global Climate Crisis
In an appearance on the “Pakistan Pivot” podcast, Adil Najam, Dean Emeritus and Professor of International Relations and Earth and Environment at Boston University’s Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies, discusses the global climate crisis and the path forward.
In his remarks, Najam articulates the idea that we are now in “The Age of Adaptation” and we need to look at climate not just as a “carbon management” challenge but as a development challenge, and maybe even a sustainable development opportunity. During their far-reaching discussion, Najam and Pakistan Now Managing Editor Abdul Basit Khawaja also explore the impacts and responses to the devastating climate-induced floods in Pakistan that have left more than 30 million Pakistanis homeless.
