Heine Interviewed on Active Non-Alignment for Latin America
Jorge Heine, Research Professor at Boston University’s Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies, appeared on one of Chiles’s leading TV stations – Channel 13 – to discuss his recent book Active Non-Alignment and Latin America: A Doctrine for the New Century.
The program, “Let us speak about Chile,” deals with Chilean foreign policy issues, and in that context dwells on the Active Non Alignment option. Heine elaborated on why, given Latin America’s growing marginality in international affairs, it is so important for the region to embrace Active-Non Alignment and not let itself be forced into siding with either of the great powers.
