Heine Comments on Future of Xi Jinping’s Leadership

Jorge Heine, Research Professor at Boston University’s Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies, appeared on CNN Chile‘s “Global Prime Connection” to discuss Chinese President Xi Jinping and the likelihood that he will pursue a third five-year term.

Heine and fellow experts analyze the role of the current president of China, his possibility of re-election, the tensions with Taiwan, the relationship with North Korea, the censorship of social networks, and the way in which he consolidated his power.

Ambassador Jorge Heine is a Research Professor at the Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston University. He has served as ambassador of Chile to China (2014-2017), to India (2003-2007) and to South Africa (1994-1999), and as a Cabinet Minister in the Chilean Government. Read more on him here.
