Storella Interviewed on Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s U.K. Visit
In an interview on FOX‘s “LiveNOW,” Ambassador Mark Storella, Professor of the Practice of Diplomacy at Boston University’s Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies and Director of the School’s African Studies Center, discusses the significance of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy‘s visit to the United Kingdom on Wednesday and his meetings with Rishi Sunak and King Charles III.
Storella noted that Zelenskyy’s visit to the U.K. is just the latest stop in a strategic diplomatic offensive, which he needs to be successful if a subsequent military offensive to retake territory seized by Russia is to be successful. Storella also discussed how Zelenskyy presented himself to foreign dignitaries – what he wore and what he said – where his next diplomatic visit could be, as well as the prospect of future aid to Ukraine. Commenting on Zelensky’s address before Parliament, Storella said the Ukrainian President was tactfully appealing to what the British people know and love; additionally, Zelensky also tied the future of Ukraine and its struggle against Russia with the future of democracy.
