Min Ye Promoted to Full Professor
The Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston University is proud to announce that the President and Provost of Boston University have approved the promotion to the rank of Full Professor of Min Ye. Prof. Ye will hold the position of Professor of International Relations in the Boston University College of Arts and Sciences and in its Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies.
Provost and Chief Academic Officer Jean Morrison announced the decision alongside the promotion of a new group of full professors, saying, “The individuals we recognize today have emerged as leaders, both in their respective areas of research and in their classrooms. At a time of extraordinary transition in the world, they are meeting that change by embarking on highly relevant new areas of inquiry, employing innovative new approaches, and pursuing boundary-pushing collaborations across dozens of disciplines. In doing so, they exemplify each day the depth and excellence of Boston University’s talented academic community.”

Min Ye is the author of Diasporas and Foreign Direct Investment in China and India (Cambridge University Press, 2014), and The Making of Northeast Asia (with Kent Calder, Stanford University Press, 2010). Her most recent book, titled The Belt Road and Beyond: State-Mobilized Globalization in China: 1998–2018 (Cambridge University Press 2020), explores the motivations and strategies behind China’s global economic expansion and considers the implications of the country’s status as a global power on both China and the world.
