Heine Interviewed on Secretary Blinken’s Visit to China

On June 19, 2023, Ambassador Jorge Heine, Research Professor at Boston University’s Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies and Interim Director of the Frederick S. Pardee Center for the Study of the Longer-Range Future, was interviewed on NTN24’s Question of Power for their segment, “What is the balance of Antony Blinken’s visit to China?”

After five years of growing tensions between the U.S. and China over trade, territorial and security issues, this was the first visit between the U.S. and Chinese officials since President Joe Biden was sworn into office. Chinese President Xi Jinping even attended an unannounced meeting with the Secretary of State which was perceived as a gesture of goodwill.
