Adil Najam Featured in State Department Blog

Dr. Adil Najam, Dean Emeritus and Professor of International Relations and of Earth and Environment at the Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston Univeristy was interviewed by the U.S. Department of State’s ExchangeAlumni blog for a feature profile post on his work on climate change and his recent appointment as the incoming President of WWF International.

The blog featured Dr. Najam as a 1991 alumni of the U.S. State Department’s International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP). It quotes Najam as saying, “There’s a lot of despair – we understand the gravity – but I hope we can take the energy of the anger and turn it into action.”  The profile ends with another quote from Najam, who hopes “to leave the planet no worse than when I came into it, and hopefully better.”

Excerpt from the profile on Najm’s time as an IVLP:

Dr. Najam completed his IVLP in the early 1990s, during the height of his career. With his prior experience in Pakistan, the IVLP exchange gave him a chance to study democracy and elections in the United States as he traveled to numerous states and met a slew of interesting people, including then-governor of Arkansas, President Bill Clinton.
