Pardee U.S. Intelligence Community Networking Night

Professor John Woodward Jr., in collaboration with Pardee Career Services, recently hosted a dynamic and enlightening event – the Pardee U.S. Intelligence Community Networking Night on March 25th, 2024. This exciting occasion brought together Pardee students with representatives from the CIA, DIA, FBI, NGA, NSA, and ODNI, providing a unique platform for students to learn about the intricacies of each agency’s mission and culture.

Throughout the evening, representatives shared invaluable insights into the world of intelligence careers, fostering a deeper understanding of the pathways and opportunities available within the field. Each representative shared their personal journey within the realm of national security, offering compelling narratives of the pivotal decisions that shaped their careers. With diverse backgrounds as analysts, technologists, and collection specialists spanning both public and private sectors, the panel underscored the multitude of avenues for aspiring intelligence professionals to explore.

Following engaging introductions from each agency, Pardee students actively participated in a structured Q&A session, probing the panelists on topics ranging from entry-level opportunities to day-to-day experiences within their respective organizations. The interactive dialogue provided students with firsthand knowledge and practical advice on navigating the complexities of the intelligence landscape.

In addition to the group session, students had the opportunity to engage one-on-one with representatives, receiving personalized guidance tailored to their individual interests and career aspirations. The intelligence officers generously shared insights on effective recruitment strategies, emphasizing the importance of adaptability, trust, and teamwork as fundamental attributes for success in the field.

The Pardee U.S. Intelligence Community Networking Night is just one in a series of impactful events hosted by Pardee Career Services this year. Building on the success of previous events such as Careers in Diplomacy and Careers in Communications for Change, we are eagerly anticipating the upcoming Pardee Career Night on April 10th. Set against the backdrop of the CDS Conference Center, this event promises yet another opportunity for Pardee students to connect with professionals across various impact areas, including diplomacy, security, public sector consulting, global development, and policy research.
