Inaugural Lecture Looks at China Politics

Poster-Lampton-Vogel-Pardee-8The Pardee School of Global Studies is proud to announce the latest installment in their Inaugural Lecture Series.

“The Politics of Leadership in China” will take place Tuesday, Feb. 24 at the BU Hillel House, 213 Bay State Road.

Speaking at the event will be two distinguished scholars. The first is David. M. Lampton, Hyman Professor and Director of SAIS-China and China Studies at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies, and author of Following the Leader: Ruling China from Deng Xiaoping to Xi Jinping.

Lampton will be joined by Ezra F. Vogel, Henry Ford II Professor of Social Science Emeritus, Harvard University, author of Deng Xiaoping and the Transformation of China.

The event will begin with a keynote speech by Lampton and Vogel at 4 p.m. After the keynote will follow a question and answer session with both speakers, along with Joseph Fewsmith, director of undergraduate studies. A reception will follow immediately after.
