Kevin Gallagher, Pardee School, Boston University

Kevin Gallagher, Associate Professor of Global Development Policy at the Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston University, spoke about the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) treaty in a video series discussing current trade agreements hosted by the Columbia Center on Sustainable Investment and the Global Economic Governance Programme sponsored by England’s Oxford University.

“Mission Creep: Trade Treaties and Financial Stability in Emerging Markets” is a half hour video published on August 11. In it, Gallagher talks with viewers about the challenges to global financial stability posed by the TPP, as well as offering some insights on global next steps.

“I’ve worked for a long time on the intersection between trade and a whole bunch of other issues,” said Gallagher in the video. “There is new economic thinking about the need to, and efficacy of, regulating cross-border finance.”
