Kevin Gallagher, Professor of Global Development Policy at the Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston University, spoke recently on development in China and Latin America.

On Oct. 29, Gallagher participated in a panel discussion held at Brown University’s Watson Institute for International Studies entitled “Can Latin America Achieve Sustainable Development by 2030?”  Latin American countries are playing an important part in the UN negotiations to reach a new global agreement on climate change this year. The new agreement will include all countries’ national climate plans, which outline various targets to be achieved by 2030.

Gallagher’s panel was recorded and is available for viewing on YouTube.

An August 2015 forum in which Gallagher participated in Beijing, China, has also been recently published online. Gallagher spoke on the topic of commodity trade between China and Latin America at the Renmin University of China School of Economics. You can read an article on Gallagher’s remarks in Chinese here.

Gallagher co-directs the Global Economic Governance Initiative and the Global Development Policy Program. He is the author or co-author of six books. Learn more about him here.
