Pardee Works: Federal Resume Workshop
The Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston University hosted a March 20, 2019 resume workshop for students interested in pursuing careers with the United States government. The workshop was held as part of the school’s Pardee Works series.
Laura Wiggins (Pardee ’19), who previously interned with the U.S. Department of State and currently serves as the Boston University Foreign Affairs Campus Coorinator for the Bureau of Public Affairs, led the workshop.
Students who attended the workshop learned what information a federal resume requires beyond a normal resume, how job announcements on USAJOBS can require different structures, and received advice on how to construct a federal resume and navigate USAJOBS.
The Pardee Works series focuses on bringing professionals currently working in the diverse field of global studies to present for and network with Pardee School students. In addition to the annual Pardee Works career symposium, recent Pardee Works talks have covered topics including working in the national security and defense industries, women in U.S. national security, career opportunities at the CIA and DIA, and careers with the U.S. Department of Commerce.
