Najam Speaks to BU Alumni in Boca Raton
Dean Adil Najam of the Boston University Pardee School of Global Studies was the featured guest and speaker at a gathering of Boston University alumni in the Florida region, held in Boca Raton on March 5, 2020. The event also brought together a strong contingent of Pardee School alumni.
The event brought together some 75 alumni from across the University and a networking reception was followed by a presentation from Dean Adil Najam. The Dean presented a video on the Pardee School and talked about the establishment of and goals on the School, which was established in 2014 and now has near 1000 students, over 40 full time faculty and some 150 faculty members affiliated through the seven centers of regional and thematic studies that are now housed in the Pardee School.
Najam then presented a talk on his work on global climate change policy. He introduced the idea that we are now already living in what he calls “the Age of Adaptation” where climate change is no longer just a future concern but a reality today for over a billion people around the world. The talk was followed by a lively discussion session with the alumni.
Always uplifting to spend time with @BUalumni, and especially those who were my own students! Did so in wonderful #BocaRaton this week. Told them more about @BUPardeeSchool plans and spoke to them about #ClimateChange in the #AgeOfAdaptation.
