Heine Interviewed on U.S.-China Tensions
Ambassador Jorge Heine, Research Professor at the Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies at Boston University, was interviewed on Radio Mundo‘s program “En Perspectiva” on which he discussed United States-China tensions.
Relations between China and the United States became strained again recently as President Joe Biden ordered U.S. intelligence agencies to investigate whether SARS-Cov2 originated in China from an animal source or from a laboratory accident. Given these tensions, Heine argues that Latin America should go for what he calls the “Active Non Alignment option,” putting its own interests front and center to strengthen its regional coordination mechanisms.
