Najam Interviewed on First Images from James Webb Telescope

Professor Adil Najam appears on "DawnNews" to discuss the first images released from the James Webb Telescope.

In an interview on DawnNews‘ “NewsWise,” Adil Najam, Dean Emeritus and Professor of International Relations and Earth and Environment at Boston University’s Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies, discusses the significance of the James Webb Telescope and the first imigaes released from it.

Najam, who tweeted before the release of the pictures, “Get ready. We are now just a few hours away from a truly breakthrough moment in science that comes just a few times in any lifetime,” was asked to explain what was so special about these pictures. He suggests that while the landing of the first man on the moon was clearly a moment of scientific advancement that changed our imagination about space, the type of scientific data that will be gleaned by the James Well telescope is probably even more revolutionary “because it takes us closer to figuring out where we came from and where we are headed.” Najam says not only are some of the most exciting questions about the beginning of life now closer to being answered, but questions about the future of life that we have not even imagined yet will now begin coming into focus.
