DIVERSITY AND INCLUSION SEMINAR—Documentary Screening of The Abominable Crime: An Evening with Maurice Tomlinson, Jamaican Lawyer and Gay Rights Activist

The Diversity and Inclusion Seminar Series and the Sex, Sexuality, and Gender Certificate welcome Maurice Tomlinson, Jamaican lawyer and gay rights activist. Tomlinson is a senior policy analyst at the Canadian HIV/AIDS Legal Network, authors reports to United Nations agencies documenting LGBT human rights in the Caribbean, conducts LGBT and HIV sensitization training for law enforcement, serves as external counsel for AIDS-Free World, and collaborates with J-FLAG, Jamaica’s largest LGBT organization. He is also featured in The Abominable Crime, a documentary describing homophobia and violence against LGBT Jamaicans. In partnership with Diversity and Inclusion First Person and the Sex, Sexuality, and Gender Certificate will screen The Abominable Crime from 6 to 7 p.m. followed by a guest lecture with Tomlinson from 7 to 8 p.m.
