Lecture: Nihal Atawane, COM Writer-in-Residence

The College of Communication is thrilled to name Nihal Atawane as our 2025 Writer in Residence! Nihal, a senior copywriter from FCB Chicago, will spend a week at his alma mater meeting with students, visiting classes, and delivering a plenary lecture. The residency takes place the week of March 24, with a plenary lecture the next day. About Nihal Atawane: With a decade of advertising experience across three countries, Nihal brings a global perspective to his writing. Currently a senior copywriter at FCB Chicago, he has developed campaigns for more than 300 brands, including Bank of America, Boeing, Bud Light, McDonald’s, Microsoft, and MTV. His work spans multiple platforms—from radio and TV to Twitch and Tinder—and has earned him numerous industry awards. Beyond the work, Nihal is a passionate advocate for immigrants in advertising and is committed to helping emerging creatives find their voice in the industry.
