If a vendor requests an ST-5 tax exempt form, you must submit this with Parts 2 and 3 completed to compt@bu.edu.  Part 1 will be completed and signed by the Comptroller’s office, and then returned to you within 1 business day.  All tax exempt forms can be found here. 

Paper W-2s have been mailed to employees who did not elect to receive theirs electronically.  For anyone seeking a reprint, requests can be directed to bupay@bu.edu.  

Shorts is the Travel Management Company (TMC) for Boston University.  Part of their service to BU is to negotiate discounted rates on airfare, car rentals, hotels, etc.  However, in order to take advantage of these rates, you must book this travel through Concur or directly with Shorts.  An additional benefit to booking travel this way is that it will pre-populate your expenses and itineraries in the Concur expense tool, significantly decreasing the time spent preparing your expense reports. 

ACH payments are a secure way for companies to get paid.  They reduce paper usage and labor, as well as the time it takes for payments to be received.  Companies can sign up for this payment method by going to paymode.com/bu. 

Go to Employee Self-Service (ESS), select “Pay”, “W-4 Tax Withholding” and choose “Edit” to make changes to your Federal or State Withholding, allowances, marital status or to request additional withholdings.  If you wish to preview the impact that these changes will have on your paycheck, there is a tool here that can  provide you with a net pay calculation based on your new withholding details.
