A special program for new dissertation writers, this four-day in-person intensive program will equip you with essential keys to succeed in the dissertation stage and beyond! Each day, you will attend skill building, professional development workshops facilitated by staff from Professional Development and Postdoctoral Affairs. Workshop topics will include:

  • Planning for the semester and writing
  • Goal setting for writing

Each day will consist of morning workshops followed by structured time to implement the new strategies you’ve learned and receive peer feedback. There will be a 30 minute lunch break as well as shorter breaks throughout the day.

ELIGIBILITY

You must be a BU PhD candidate (i.e. have completed all coursework and qualifying exams) and be actively writing either your dissertation prospectus/proposal or your first dissertation chapter. We encourage candidates who are primarily engaged in fieldwork or data collection to apply at a later time.
